ABUNDANCE

Got to give thanks to the Goddess Maryjane. She’s made the hippies rich, or more like middle class. Because of this lovely plant, our minds are high and our pockets are full, but not for long.

Since the legalization across the nation, the green buds of the small hippie pot farms are now in the hands of big players. Nowadays you have to be a million-dollar operation to survive with a staff of secretaries to do all the paperwork and filing of taxes. Pot is the only substance that is taxed multiple times, from when it is dried to when it is packaged to when it is sold to a distributor, and then when it is sold to the consumer. No other product is so taxed. When the powers-that-be saw the hippies driving new cars and vacationing in Thai Land, they wanted that money too.

But we still give thanks. It allowed many a utopia to be built, alternative businesses to be opened, and international gatherings of counter culture to arise.

Solar panels are one of these businesses. Who do you think were the first people to invest in the solar industry? All those hippie houses in the backwoods needed power and not just candle power.

So to the lovely Maryjane, we say thank you. May you ease the tension in people’s lives and make them smile.
