Being safe is understandable but do we need to make a huge amount of wait to do so. It just takes a small amount of thoughtfulness, some time (which we have plenty of that now) and basic sewing skills to make a mask. It is not rocket science.

Take a disposable surgical mask and copy its size and lay out. It is just a basic square with a few folds and elastic sown into the seems.

Pick groovy fabric, no need to be dull.

Fold one side over to make a double layered mask and make two pucker folds in the middle then place elastic between the layers. Sew around the three sides and vola- a mask that can be washed.
